The City of Roseville Chooses Concrete for Oak Street Safety, Pride and Durability

In 2013, the City of Roseville, CA was concerned that one major intersection was experiencing three times the amount of traffic accidents compared to other similar intersections. The City decided to implement aggressive safety measures and chose to replace the intersection with a roundabout. More specifically, a roundabout paved with concrete due to its low maintenance costs, light aesthetics, and resilient features – after all, the 1940’s concrete street leading up to the roundabout is also made of concrete and still in service!

The 2015 American Public Works Association (APWA) Project of the Year, this roundabout outside of the Roseville City Hall proved to be a success, and was a pivotal part of the City’s goal to revitalize the downtown area in 2014.
